Mary Cisa Magee

Mary Doris Cisa Magee, 95, died peacefully Sunday, October 16, 2016. The relatives and friends of Mary Doris Cisa Magee are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 60 Huguenin Avenue. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Wednesday at James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29407. Mary Doris was born in Charleston on September 28, 1921, only child of Eleanor Burmester and William Joseph Cisa. She graduated from Bishop England High School and then completed her degree at The College of Charleston. She and Walter T. Magee were married on April 30, 1945. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage until his death in 1996. Mary will be remembered fondly by every teacher and student at Nativity Catholic School where she taught for 25 years. A special thank you to all the staff at NHC for taking exceptional care of our Mother with love and devotion for 11 years. She is survived by four children: Molly Magee of Houston, TX, Sissy Magee Hall, Teresa Magee Scaffe (Tommy) and Tom Magee (Susan), all of Charleston. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Chapel, BEHS Endowment Fund (http://behs.enschool.org) or a charity of your choice.
