Mary Elizabeth Elliott Halsey, 92, of Charleston, SC, the widow of Eugene Loeb Halsey, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 30, 2010. She was born in New York, NY on Sunday, January 20, 1918. Mrs. Halsey was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church from the inception, their Women's Guild and Perpetual Adoration. She was a volunteer at Blessed Sacrament School when her children attended. Mrs. Halsey was a graduate of the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Class of 1930 and Bishop England High School, Class of 1934. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn H. Keenan and her husband, Michael, of Charleston; two sons, Eugene L. "Skip" Halsey, Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Sarasota, FL and Thomas L. Halsey and his wife, Martha, of Greensboro, NC and her four grandchildren, Karen H. Brooks, Eugene L. Halsey III, Michael E. Keenan and Brian H. Keenan. Mrs. Halsey is also survived by three great grandsons and five great granddaughters. She was predeceased by a grandson, Cameron O. Halsey. The relatives and friends of Mary Elizabeth Halsey are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 3, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to the Blessed Sacrament Church, Building Fund, 5 St. Teresa Dr. Charleston, SC 29407. Arrangements are by the JAMES A.
