Mary Theresa Breunig - Johns Island Mary Theresa Breunig, 84, died at her John's Island, South Carolina home on January 3, 2015. The relatives and friends of Mary Theresa Breunig are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at at 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, John's Island, SC. The Rite of Committal will follow at 2:00 PM Thursday afternoon at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC . Her Guestbook may be signed at WWW.JamesAMcAlister.com Mrs. Breunig was born on October 14, 1930, in Bernardsville, New Jersey, a daughter of Andrew and Annah Evans Stvartnak. She graduated with honors from the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, New Jersey in 1952 and following a brief career as a professional Nutritionist served her family and country as a military wife for 20 years. After "retirement" from the military she served as an instructor for children's education at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, was a devoted volunteer for Head Start, St. Francis Hospital and many other charitable causes. She is survived by her four children; Michael Breunig and his wife, Sherri, of Atlanta, Kathleen Breunig of John's Island, Richard Breunig of John's Island and Mary Breunig Pyra and her husband, Rich, of Tampa, as well as 2 granddaughters, Annah and Heather Pyra. She was preceded in death by her husband Col. Joseph T. Breunig USA(Ret) and brother, Andrew Stvartnak.
