Mary Ann Fail Melendez

Mary Ann Fail Melendez, 81, of Charleston, SC, wife of Robert A. Melendez, entered into eternal rest on March 2, 2024. Her Funeral Service will be 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy, Charleston. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mary Ann was born July 4, 1942, in Olar, SC. She was the daughter of Dewey and Mary Ellen Fail. She graduated from Denmark Olar High School, class of 1960 and Palmer Business College in Charleston. She met the love of her life, Robert Anthony Melendez, and they were married for 59 years. Mary Ann was the mother of three children. She enjoyed reading and working in her yard. Mary Ann retired from Rogers & Brown Custom Broker.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Lisa Roberts (Joey); son, Robert “Tony” Melendez (Stephanie); granddaughter, Miranda Roberts; grandson, Tyler Dimock as well as her extended family, Joey Runey Jennifer Runey, Whitney Runey, Emily Runey, Ashley Runey, Emory Blackwell and Rocky Blackwell.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Terri Melendez and her brother, Wayne Fail.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ashley Gardens for taking such good care of Mary Ann throughout the last days of her life. God bless the staff.
