Martin Edward Neeley

Martin Edward Neeley, 68, of Johns Island, SC, passed away unexpectedly October 31, 2022. The relatives and friends of Martin and Kathy Neeley are invited to attend his Graveside Funeral 2:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Avenue, Charleston. The family will receive friends between 12:30 and 1:30 PM Saturday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston.

Martin was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 26th, 1953 to Dayton and Joyce Neeley. Martin graduated from Burghill High School in Burghill, Ohio in 1972.

He excelled in all endeavors of his life, which includes raising two wonderful daughters and diverse occupations: an electrician, a steelworker, “Mr. Mom”, small business owner/operator and an exceptional chef. Martin was also an accomplished bowler and pursued a certification to become an airplane pilot.

Martin is survived by his wife Kathy; daughters Aimee R. Neeley and Jerilyn M. Neeley; father Dayton Neeley; sisters Dee Dee Dungan, Cindy Belles, Elizabeth Schlagel, and brother Wendell Neeley.

Martin was a dedicated father and husband. He enjoyed watching movies with his daughters, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Tremors. He also spent numerous hours driving his daughters to countless musical competitions. Martin’s hobbies included coin collecting, watching professional golf tournaments and was an avid fan of history.
