Martha "Sally" Leona Montgomery Johnston,73, of Hollywood, SC, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2016. The relatives and friends of Ms. Martha Leona Montgomery are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 8, 2016, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Rd, Charleston. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel. One of six siblings, Sally was born in Conway, SC on August 5, 1942, a daughter of Odell and Margaret Montgomery. Sally was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great joy in caring for her family. She was an avid gardener, baker and an accomplished seamstress. She loved spending time outside and was not afraid of getting her hands dirty in the soil. After retiring from Global Van Lines, Sally took on the job of grandmother with energy and devotion. She is survived by her son, Darrell Denaux and his wife, Stacey; her granddaughter, Catherine; her sister, Jacqueline "Dianne" Montgomery Bowker; her loving uncles, James B. and C.B. Montgomery; nieces, nephews and many loving extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Billy Johnston, her brother, Tommy Montgomery and three of her sisters, Linda Johnson, Margaret Jordan and Jane Roberts.
