Marshall Martin, Jr.

G. Marshall Martin Jr., 94, passed away on April 6, 2021, at his home in Charleston, SC. Marshall was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Anderson).

He was born on October 8, 1926, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Margaret (White) and George Marshall Martin. He was a graduate of Withrow High School and Miami University, Class of 1954. He served in the Navy during World War II. He became Adjunct Professor of Environmental Design at University of Cincinnati.

In 1966, he moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to join a large architectural firm designing commercial work throughout the state and Bahamas. He became president of the firm Martin Moul Wilkin Architects Inc. until retirement moving to Charleston, SC to be with grandchildren and family.

He was a Board Member of American Institute of Architects- South Florida, Trustee First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale, Rotarian, Board of Directors American Red Cross, Code Enforcement Board City of Ft. Lauderdale. He enjoyed his metal and wood shop at home, ham radio, the beach with family, foreign travel and off shore ocean racing campaigning the office sloop, 'Charisma'.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda of Charleston, SC, her husband, Jay and their children, Sloane and Jay, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at a later time in Cape Cod, MA.
