He retired from Procter and Gamble. Marion and Ann raised four daughters. He loved his girls dearly, but his granddaughter, Melissa Ann Gehlken, filled his heart with forever love with her smiles, hugs, giggles, and precious moments rocking with her Papa in his recliner while he told her, "that's my girl." He was a founding and active member of the Tikis, a board member of the No Name Golf Club, and an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was an enthusiastic Gamecock fan and loved that his three youngest daughters graduated from the University of South Carolina. He loved spending time in the boat with his family and friends. During his five year battle, he gained a second family at Charleston Hematology Oncology Associates. Dr. Ellison, Mary, his nurses, and the staff always went above and beyond and he grew to love them.
