Marie C. Werner

Marie Colby Werner, 74, entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 2, 2024. She was the daughter of Arden Colby and Kathryn Burmester. She graduated from Brescia University in 1971. She worked as a secretary at Springfield Elementary and then at Stono Park, where she retired.

Marie is survived by her sister, Alice Ann and brother, Arden, along with her son, Peter, his wife, Melissa, his sons Isaac, Ephraim, and Phillip and his wife, Gracie, and daughter, Ella, and her other son, Robert, his wife, Heather, their daughter. Holly, and his other daughter, Julia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, June 17, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends between 3:00 and 5:00 PM Sunday, June 16, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston.
