Maria B. Kiel

Maria B. Kiel, 79, died Friday, June 8, 2018. The relatives and friends of Maria B. Kiel are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Dr. The Rite of Committal will be private. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Monday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy.

Maria was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida in 1938, the daughter of Peter and Goldie Botzis. A 1956 graduate of Ashley Hall, she received her RN degree from the St. Francis School of Nursing in 1959. Maria was an avid bridge player and was active at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

She is predeceased by her parents; her husband of fifty years, Richard Kiel; and her brother, Peter Botzis. She is survived by her son, Henry Kiel; sister-in-law, Shirley Botzis; and nephews, David Botzis (Angie), Michael Botzis (Marisa), Robert Brouse (Stephanie) and William Brouse (Katie).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at St. Joseph Catholic Church, or to the American Alzheimer's Association (www.act.alz.org).
