Marguerite P. Moscati

Marguerite P. Moscati, 96, of Charleston, a retired registered nurse, first married to the late Edwin G. Britz, Jr. and widow of Anthony J. Moscati, entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2017. The relatives and friends of Marguerite P. Moscati are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 26, 2017, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 89 Hasell Street. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening between 5:00 and 8:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM.  Marguerite was born in Charleston on November 3, 1920, a daughter of Andrew and Margaret Pinto. She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1941 and worked at St Francis Hospital. She also worked for Dr. Rip Wilson, Jr. for 14 years. Marguerite married Anthony Moscati in 1967 and moved to the Bronx, New York . In 1995 she & Anthony returned to her beloved Charleston and lived at the Canterbury House. She is survived by her children: Andrew J. Britz and wife, Lynn, Theresa Moscati Fahey and husband, Robert, Anthony J. Moscati, Jr., Maree Moscati and partner, Peter Scalzo, Carolyn Britz-Gartelman and husband, Robert; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great- great- grandchildren; her brother, John Pinto as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Edwin Britz III and her sister, Gloria Bresnihan. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Iredell County (www.hoic.org) 202 Williamson Rd, Suite 201, Mooresville, NC 28117 or your favorite charity.
