Margaret Eugenia McCarrel Guill Sigwald entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 19, 2010. Margaret was born on March 13, 1918. She was the daughter of Robert McCarrel and Greta Molony McCarrel. She attended Catholic Schools in Charleston, South Carolina. For most of her life, she was a member of the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist. She had one sister, Mary McCarrel Britton (deceased). She had one nephew that preceded her in death, Andy Britton (Brenda). Margaret worked for many years for Jones' Cleaners on Market Street. She left there when she married her first husband Berlin Guill. Margaret and Berlin resided in Reno, Nevada and they eventually returned to Charleston. After the death of her first husband, she went back to work for Lyerly's Cleaners on St. Phillips Street in Charleston. She worked there until she married her second husband, Martin Sigwald. She was a loving Aunt affectionatly called Maggie. Margaret spent the last years of her life in a nursing home on Johns Island where her religious needs were taken care of by Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She is survived by 2 nephews; Eric Britton and his wife Jo, Laurent Britton and his wife Marsha, niece Mary Britton Ball, great nephew Larry Britton, 3 great nieces, Lisa Britton Breeze (Scott), Marie Britton Rodriguez (Edgar), Mary Ball Watford (Jeffrey) 3 great grand nieces Annalisa Breeze, Sarah Elizabeth Watford and Mary Frances Watford. She is also survived by her 2 great grand nephews Alex Watford and Patrick Watford. Margaret's interment will be at 1:00 PM Monday, November 29, 2010 at Holy Cross Cemetery.
