Margaret C. Mckellips

Margaret McKellips, 88 of Charleston, SC, widow of the late John L. McKellips, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Monday, August 7, 2023 at James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy., Charleston. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, James Island.

Margaret was born September 13, 1934 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of the late John E. Aytes and Ethel V. Aytes. After retiring from Southland Life Insurance Company, she worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for the Preschool Academy for over 25 years and enjoyed being around the children and family.

Survivors include her sons, John T. McKellips and wife Maggie, Timothy H. McKellips and wife Dionne, her daughters, Karen M. Johnston and husband Jimmy, Vicki E. Infinger and husband Bill, Lori A. Akers and husband Rusty, ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials in her name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association ( www.alz.org ).
