Margaret Hughes

Margaret Clark 'Margie' Hughes, 81, passed away on July 15, 2025, in Charleston, SC.

Margie was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Julia and George Clark on November 27, 1943. She graduated from Penn Hills, PA High School in 1961. She married Robert 'Bob' Hughes on December 9, 1961 in Pittsburgh, PA. They were married 57 years until Bob's passing in 2018.

Margie was a homemaker early in her marriage and later had a career in the administrative field for Westinghouse Research and Development in Churchill, PA and also Westinghouse Electric Company's Nuclear Division in Monroeville, PA from which she retired after many years.

Margie was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading. Talented in painting, sewing and wallpapering. Her greatest accomplishments were being a devoted wife, mother, aunt and loving grandmother.

Margie is preceded in death by her son, Robert D. Hughes (1982), her sister, Eleanor Easton (2012) and her husband, Robert W. Hughes (2018).

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Willson (Eric); her son, David Hughes; grandchildren, Julia Browder (Woods), Rachel Willson (Austin), Christopher Hughes, Kayla Hughes and Miles Hughes as well as a nephew, Jeff Easton.

A private family memorial honoring Margie will be held at home Saturday, July 26, 2025. She will be laid to rest at a later date, along with her husband, in Pittsburgh, PA.
