Margaret Bartlett Addison, 84, widow of William E. Addison, Jr., entered into eternal rest on August 28, 2013. Margaret was born on November 10, 1928, in Charleston, the daughter of the late Levi and Catherine Bartlett. Margaret is survived by her 3 children: William E. Addison III (Trisha), Jeannine Addison, and Michael B. Addison (Michelle); 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Addison Austin (Casey), Angela Addison, Joseph Addison, Christopher Addison, Nicole Addison, and Stephen Addison; and 4 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Molly, Eddie, and Henry. Margaret graduated from Bishop England High School and worked as a recreational therapist at Pinehaven Sanatorium before marrying in 1951. She and her husband, William, were among the first members of Blessed Sacrament Church. Margaret was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She deeply enriched the lives of her family and was a joy to all who knew her. Her quiet strength, determination, intelligence, creativity, selflessness, and compassion were a blessing to those close to her. Margaret was an excellent water colors artist, and also enjoyed gardening and music, as well as bringing a smile to the faces of others. The relatives and friends of Margaret Bartlett Addison are invited to attend her Memorial Mass at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, September 2, 2013, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston, SC 29407 or to a charity of one's choice.
