Obituary

Malcolm D. Todd, Jr., 86, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 3, 2026. Born on April 29, 1940, in Loris, South Carolina, he graduated from Loris High School in 1958 and furthered his education at Columbia Business School. Malcolm dedicated his career to the electronics industry, serving as a sales manager at Arrow Electronics, where he was known for his commitment and expertise.

In retirement, Malcolm pursued his passion for the outdoors by establishing TLC, Todd Lawn Care, which reflected his love for nurturing the landscape around him. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and dancing, often sharing these interests with his family and friends. Malcolm was also a proud member of the Jamil Shrine Temple in Columbia, South Carolina, where he participated in their charitable initiatives and community events. Malcolm Todd's legacy of love, kindness, and a zest for life will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Freda Sheppard Todd; his son, Gary Wayne Todd; parents, Malcolm D. Todd, Sr. (Bessie) and sister Lionell McDonald. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Boinest (Edward), daughter-in-law, D'Ann Todd and his sister Helen Cannon. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Alex Todd (Loren), Jonathan Todd (Kitti), and Lana Bagley (Chad Fultz) along with his great-grandchildren: Heather, Emory, Willow, Jamison, Beni, Oliver, and Henrik; as well as may nieces and nephews, a large, loving extended family and supportive friends and neighbors.


His Funeral Service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2026 at James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy, Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

At the request of the family, memorial contributions in Malcolm's name, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, 2637 US-17 BUS, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
