Mable Janet Antley Owens, 105, of Charleston, SC, widow of Leonard T. Owens, entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 29, 2019.
The relatives and friends of Mable J. Owens are invited to attend her Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy., Charleston. Rev. John Peters will officiate at the service. Burial will be held at 2:30 PM at Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Avenue. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mable was born September 3, 1913, in McBeth, SC, a daughter of Thomas James Antley and Nettie E. Waltz Antley. She was a founding member of the Charleston Artist Guild and a member of the Gibbes Museum of Art. She was very active in garden clubs, PTA and church. Mable retired as a photo shop saleswoman with Howard R. Jacobs Company after 32 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents, sisters and one brother, her daughter, Sandra Lynn Owens and son, Thomas L. Owens. Mable is survived by her sister, Myrl Tuten; her daughter-in-law, Jackie Owens; two grandsons, Quincy T. Owens (wife Diana and their son Chase) and Matthew Courtney Owens (wife Stephanie and their daughters Maddie and Katie).
