Lynda Cogan Heffley died on Saturday, September 24, 2016. The relatives and friends of Lynda C. Heffley are invited to her Visitation between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Monday, September 26, 2016, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Lynda will be laid to rest at a later date in Millbach, PA. Lynda was born September 14, 1931 in Phoenixville, PA. She was the daughter of Matthew S. Cogan and Lillian Cogan Dancy. Educated in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Massachusetts, she was a graduate of the Baptist Institute in Pennsylvania. Lynda taught pre-school for many years, both here and in New York state. She became a Charleston tour guide and later served as the Historian-Guide in the Council Chamber of City Hall. It was her delight to share that beautiful room with visitors. She is survived by Robert, her husband of 63 years, her daughter Deborah Brooks (Jack) of Charleston, her son Scott of Hardeeville, and her sister Sarabeth Holmberg of Stuart, Florida.
