Lydia R. Shokes, 57, wife of Glenn Q. Shokes, of Walterboro, SC into eternal rest on July 11, 2017, in Charleston, SC. She was born May 9, 1960 in Savannah, GA, a daughter of the late William and Lois Cameron Renfro. Lydia resided in the Charleston area most of her life and was a 1978 graduate of Stall High School. She retired from John S. James Company, as an import specialist in 2002.She loved Charleston and the mountains of North Carolina, but she would not give up a trip going anywhere. Lydia loved life and was always ready for a new adventure. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Lydia will be missed all that knew her. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Glenn; her sons, Kevin of Charleston, and Brent (Shellie) of Summerville; her grandchildren: Brennen Shokes, Kaitlynn Andrews(Jeffrey), Haily Briley and Jerrod Briley; and a great grandson, Weston Andrews, all of Goose Creek. She is also survived by her birth mother, Ruth Bare, one sister, Susan Turney (Clarence), one brother, Bruce Bare, all of North Carolina, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service in remembrance of Lydia will be held at a later date. Private Interment will be at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
