Luis Ramon Kraveka

Luis Ramon Kraveka, 84, of Velasco, Cuba, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 8, 2024. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:45 AM, Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Columbarium, 1695 Wallenberg Boulevard, Charleston.

Luis was born March 20, 1940 in Velasco, Cuba. Luis is survived by his wife Glenda, of 59 years, daughter Jackie and her husband Ernesto Barros and grandchildren Emily and Alejandro as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Luis was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to all. Luis emigrated from Cuba in 1971 and settled in Brooklyn New York. Luis came to the US in pursuit of a better life for his family. In New York, he was a grocery store owner and salesman. He was a lifelong Yankee Fan. Luis was often found tending to his garden. He loved roasting pig for special occasions and entertaining all his friends and family.

Luis enjoyed his retirement as he and Glenda travelled the world with their friends visiting Rome, Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Hawaii, the Dominican Republic and many other places. When he wasn’t travelling, Luis loved being a host and always was sure to provide his guests with a drink or something delicious to eat.
