L.R. "Walkie" Lyons

L. R."Walkie" Lyons, 78, of Charleston, SC, died Thursday, March 28, 2013. Lawrence was born December 26, 1934 in Charleston, SC, the son of the late Lawrence R. Lyons, Sr., and Eva Hires Lyons. Mr. Lyons attended Bishop England High School and the University of South Carolina. He was a retired Mail Carrier with the United States Postal Service and a United States Army veteran. Lawrence is survived by his three daughters: Julie L. Howard, Susan L. Scott, and Kathleen T. Lyons; and five grandchildren. Special thanks to all the Roper Hospice caregivers. The relatives and friends of "Walkie" are invited to attend his Memorial Service 1:00 PM-4:00 PM, with Chaplain Jay speaking at 1:30 PM, Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the American Legion Post 147, 968 Folly Road, Charleston.
