Lois Scott Burnup, 86, of Charleston, died Friday, July 5, 2013. Lois was born in Rocky Point, North Carolina, on August 1, 1926, a daughter of the late Robert W. Scott and Exie H. Scott. She graduated from Long Creek-Grady High School in 1944. Lois was a member of Northbridge Baptist Church and also was a volunteer for many years at St. Francis Hospital. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Burnup Googe (Glenn) and Debra Burnup Tillman; sons, Mark Alan Burnup (Kellie) and Matthew CoolBreeze of Folly Beach; grandchildren, Christopher S. Googe (Crystal), Michelle E. Tillman, Brian A. Burnup, Jamie L. Parfrey (Justin), Kyle L. Tillman (Tiffany), and Tilden K. Burnup. Lois is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Trevor, Cayden, Addison, Kylie, Emerson, Tinsley and Cannon, as well as a sister, Evelyn Nuyiannes and caregiver, Sonya Turner. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Captain Gary L. Tillman, two brothers and three sisters. The relatives and friends of Lois S. Burnup are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy., Charleston. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
