Entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 2, 2010, Lillian Clarice Quinby of John's Island, SC Lillian Quinby was born in Charleston a daughter of the late Bertrand Adler and Lillie Estelle Burn Quinby on Thursday, May 22, 1919. She was a graduate of Murray Vocational High School and worked for many years with the Commissioner of Public Works and the Rodenberg Grocery Store Lillian loved crafts and made plastic canvas in the form of small flags on pins, Christmas trees, ice cream cones, hearts and gave then to old and new friends .During WWII she was a Aircraft spotter. She always had a smile on her face and was a pleasure to be with. She was predeceased by her brother, John A. Quinby and two sisters, Gladys E. Quinby and Marian Q. McDonald. Surviving are three sisters, Edna Quinby Morgan of Clyo, GA, Catherine Quinby Pinckney and Vivvian Quinby Huthmacher both of John's Island, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The relatives and friends of Miss Lillian C. Quinby are invited to attend her funeral service at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 7, 2010, at the James A. McAlister Chapel. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park.
