Leon Jackson Copeland, Jr. 66 of Charleston, died Sunday, January 29, 2012, at a local hospital. Jackie was born in Charleston on May 21, 1945, a son of Leon Jackson and May France Copeland. He attended Blessed Sacrament School and graduated from Bishop England High School. Jackie honorably served his country in the U. S. Navy and US Marine Corps. He worked for Brad Windham Motor Co. for over fifteen years. Jackie was an avid Gamecock fan and golfer and could usually be found at Shadowmoss Country Club enjoying the company of his many friends. He will be dearly missed. Jackie is survived by his Mother of Charleston, his sister, Donna C. Tucker and her husband, Wayne; his brothers, Ronald J. Copeland and his wife, Agnes, J. Michael Copeland and his wife, Debbie and Stephen A. Copeland and his wife, Amy as well as six nieces and nephews and ten grand nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Burial, at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, will be Private.
