Lee Roy Hurd

Lee R. Hurd, 90 of Ravenel, S.C. and a former resident of Seattle, WA died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at a local hospital. The relatives and friends of Mr. Lee R. Hurd, are invited to attend his funeral service at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. Lee moved to Charleston in 2002 to be close to his family. He is survived by his son, Lance Hurd, daughter-in-law Cheryl Hurd and Grandson, Eric Hurd of North Charleston; Grandson Mark Hurd of Canton, OH; Grand-daughter Kimberly Traylor of Buffalo, NY; Sister, Helen Clark of Ukiah, CA., Step Daughter, Judy Martin of Lake Havasu, AZ, Eight Great- Grandchildren, His best friend who was like a brother, C.B. Montgomery of Ravenel and another dear friend J.B. Montgomery of Walterboro. The three were inseparable. Honorary Grandchildren Cody and Jessie Bazzle of Ravenel and Amanda Rozier of Goose Creek. Lee was born October 19, 1921 in St, James, Minnesota. He was a Navy Veteran in WWII and served aboard the USS Yorktown as an aviator. Lee retired as a telephone repairman and installer with 36 years of dedicated service with North Western Pacific Bell.
