Lawrence Vernon Marcey

Mr. Lawrence Vernon Marcey, 81, of Charleston, the husband of Carolyn Convertino Marcey, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. He was born in Arlington, VA on Wednesday, November 6, 1929, the son of the late Samuel Lawrence Marcey and Elsie Virginia Morris Marcey. Mr. Marcey served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a retired Traffic Manager at Del Monte Tropical Fruit Company and a retired Checker with the International Longshoremen's Association Local 1771. Mr. Marcey will be remembered for his compassion and willingness to help his fellow man. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn C. Marcey; daughter, Roseanna Marcey; son, Danny Marcey and his wife Kathy; daughter, Donna Maria Marcey; son, Angelo John Marcey; son, Santo Anthony Marcey and his wife Beverly; grandson, Christopher Goss; granddaughter, Gina Goss; grandson, Danny Marcey, Jr.; grandson, Angelo Joseph Marcey; granddaughter, Carrianna Marcey; granddaughter, Christina Marcey; granddaughter, Anna Maria Marcey; great grandson, Brian Goss; great grandson, Sean Goss; great granddaughter, Ella Marcey. The family will receive friends Friday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. at James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway Charleston.
