Her athletic talents shone through as she proudly represented Goldsboro High School on the soccer, tennis, and swim teams. Furthermore, Laura's family legacy was honored when she was presented at the 1994 North Carolina Debutante Ball.
In 1997, Laura graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree, focusing on Voice and Communications. Her operatic voice resonated through countless weddings and funerals, bringing solace and beauty to those who had the privilege to hear her sing.
Laura met her beloved husband, Mike Deprill, while working in Charlotte, North Carolina. Together, they shared a beautiful life, marrying on May 18, 2002, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Goldsboro. They then moved to Charleston, South Carolina. Their partnership was a testament to unwavering love and support, which deepened with the birth of their two adored children, Madeline and Braden, now 17 years old. She was fully invested in their lives, actively supporting their academics, athletics and friendships on James Island. She cultivated deep friendships and cared for her two children and their many friends. Often referred to as a "second mom" to many.
One of Laura's most admirable qualities was her exceptional work ethic and passion for her role as a Sales Representative in the medical field, most recently with Biote. She was also often noted to be a top sales representative and was given accolades for her skills. Even in her final days, she demonstrated a commitment to her work that inspired all who knew her.

She possessed an unencumbered spirit, always shining a light for herself and those around her, forming connections that spanned generations. Her infectious humor and smile lifted the hearts of many, and her humble approach to life was a lesson in resilience and grace. Laura believed in what she called "stick-to-it-ness," a mantra she cherished with her husband, Mike, as they navigated life together, never wavering in their hope. She was known for her gift of friendship, kindness and her beautiful spirit that touched peoples lives in many ways.
As we celebrate Laura's life, we continue to honor her memory and the deep impact she made on our lives. Laura's strength and grace will continue to guide us, and we pledge to uplift her children as a reflection of the love she so deeply instilled in all of us.
