Katherine Duc Mitchell

Katherine D. Mitchell CHARLESTON - Entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 11, 2009, Katherine Elizabeth Duc Mitchell, widow of James Ulmont Mitchell. She was born in Charleston a daughter of Harry Alexander and Lillian T. McGuiness Duc on Sunday, January 16, 1921. Mrs. Mitchell attended Mitchell Elementary and Bishop England High School. Katherine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She had many gifts including a great sense of style and humor and a generous spirit. She lived her life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Katherine was predeceased by a son, James U. Mitchell, Jr., a sister, Booty Sosebee and a brother, Bo Duc. Surviving are two sisters, Carmen L. Duc and Patricia D. Mikell, a daughter-in-law, Roberta D. Mitchell, granddaughters, Dawn M. Beamer and Heather L. Knapp, great grandchildren, Kelly and Sara Knapp. The relatives and friends of Katherine Duc Mitchell are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends this Tuesday evening between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy.
