It is with profound sadness that the family of Kathleen June Wallace Reynolds announces she lost her one year battle with esophogeal cancer. She died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
June was born on June 21, 1940, in Charleston, SC, a daughter of Rachel Kathleen Wallace and William Tyler Wallace. She was predeceased by four brothers, William “Billy” Wallace, Harmon Wallace, Harold Milton Hughes and Francis Monroe Hughes.
June graduated from Chicora High School where she met the love of her life in tenth grade, William Townsend “Billy” Reynolds. They have been married for 61 years. They have three children, Lisa Reynolds Gaines (Chris), William Townsend Reynolds, Jr. (Cheryl) and Lori Reynolds Davenport (Duce). Six grandchildren, John Brent Rodgers (Sarah), Kathleen “Katie” Rodgers Hooks (Dustin), William Townsend Reynolds (Savannah), Auldin Truitt Reynolds (Adam), William Donald “Trace” Davenport, and Laurel Kathleen “Kaylee” Davenport. Two great-grandchildren, Kathleen Elizabeth “Liza” Hooks and Zoey Isabella “Izzy” Hooks, the joys of her world.
The following verse describes June well: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (II Timothy 4:7-8). June will be missed by all who knew her.
June went to work after getting her children in school as an Attendance Clerk at Fort Johnson Middle School for 27 years.
The relatives and friends of June and her family are invited to attend her funeral at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Crossroads at Calvary Baptist Church, 942 Folly Road, James Island, SC. The family will greet family and friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island.
In addition to the kindness and warmth with which June treated everyone, her family and close friends will always remember her smile and selfless contributions to her church and friends. She was a humble servant of the Lord and can finally talk again with Jesus and her family in heaven.
