Jules Anthony Dursse, Sr., 88, of Charleston, the husband of Rosie Phillips Dursse, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Charleston, the son of Sydney Augustus Dursse and Carmel Hanley Dursse on Sunday, February 4, 1922. Mr. Dursse was a graduate of Bishop England High School, Class of 1938. He served our country honorably during World War II in the US Army Air Corps and retired from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command as a Management Analyst. Mr. Dursse was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing golf, square dancing and coached Dixie Youth Baseball when his sons were young. Mr. Dursse is survived by his wife, Rosie P. Dursse; three sons, Jules A. Dursse, Jr.(Tana), Michael G. Dursse (Barrie Jean), Martin L. Dursse (Theresa); seven grandchildren, Tannis Phillips, Danielle Feig, Matthew Dursse, Catherine Dursse, Joseph Dursse, Zachary Dursse, Shelby Dursse; ten great grandchildren and a brother, Gerald L. Dursse. He is predeceased by his first wife, Anne Rowland Dursse. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Jules A. Dursse, Sr. are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 26, 2010 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be held in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Charleston, with a Vigil Service being held at 6:00 PM.
