Josephine E. (Metz) Ketcham, 96, of Ladson and formerly of James Island, entered into eternal rest on Saturday evening, September 1, 2012. She was born in New York City, NY on August 20, 1916, the daughter of Adam Metz Jr. and Josephine M. (Schupp) Metz. Mrs. Ketcham, along with her late husband Bert Ketcham, were the former owners of the Jack Krawcheck Boys and Student Shop on King Street in Charleston. Mrs. Ketcham was a former member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church on Folly Beach and currently a member of St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church in Summerville. In addition to her husband, Adelbert M. "Bert" Ketcham, she was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne Ketcham Andrews, a sister, Margaret Pflugfelder, and two brothers, Adam Metz III and William Metz. Surviving Mrs. Ketcham are three sons, Richard Ketcham and his wife Mary (Marie) of Summerville, SC, William Ketcham and his wife Christine of Stony Brook, NY, and James Ketcham of New York; 9 grandchildren: Stephanie, Lisa, Todd, Margaret, Robert, William, Logan, Devin, and Gillian; and 7 great grandchildren: Zachary, Gabriella, Mitchell, Marshall, Christian, Connor, and Christopher. The family will be receiving friends at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Josephine Ketcham are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 9:00 am at St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church on Dorchester Road, Summerville. The Rite of Committal will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island.
