Joseph F. LeBlanc, 83, of Charleston, SC, widower of Patricia LeBlanc, entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 19, 2016. The relatives and friends of Joseph F. LeBlanc are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd., Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. The family will receive friends between 5 and 7 PM Tuesday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston, with a Rosary at 6:30 PM. Joe was born July 26, 1933 in Madisonville, LA, the son of Thelma Stein and Joseph F. LeBlanc, Sr. He graduated from St. Paul's Catholic School in Covington, LA, and completed his B.A. in Accounting from Southeastern Louisiana University, and later completed his Master's Degree in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School. He joined the United States Navy as a Supply Corps officer, serving his country for 22 years. He and his late wife Patricia Neary LeBlanc raised six children. The growing family lived in Georgia, on the Island of Saipan, California, and Virginia, before settling in Charleston, SC, with his final duty station at the Navy Supply Center. Upon his retirement from the Navy, Joe accepted the position of Office Manager with Young, Clement, Rivers and Tisdale Law Firm, enjoying a 2nd retirement after 18 years. A devout Catholic, Joe was an active member at St. Joseph's since 1974. He loved to volunteer, including helping with the athletic programs at St. Joseph's Catholic Church for over 30 years, and The Neighborhood House. He was also an active spectator at his children's and grandchildren's athletic events at Bishop England High School for many years. Joe is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Neary LeBlanc, and his daughter Susan LeBlanc. He is survived by his son David J. LeBlanc, Sr. and wife Regina Droze LeBlanc; his daughter Dianne LeBlanc Bozzelli and husband Patrick; his son Steven R. LeBlanc and wife Kelly Ball LeBlanc; his daughter Deborah and husband Gerald McCully; and his daughter Francine and husband Brendan Barry. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren: David and Katelyn LeBlanc; Sarah Wade Walter, Joseph and Benjamin Wade; Sydney LeBlanc; Meghan McCully; Karah, Erin, Ryan and Molly Barry; 1 great-grandson, Thomas Walter; 1 Sister, Audrey LeBlanc Cooper, and his sister-in-law, Rita Jo Neary Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bishop England High School Endowment Fund, 363 Seven Farms Dr., Daniel Island, SC 29492, or to the Lutheran Hospice, 1885 Rifle Range Rd #46, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464.
