Joseph Abdon Kucharski

March 8, 1953 — June 2, 2009

Joseph Abdon Kucharski Charleston, S.C - Mr. Joseph Abdon Kucharski passed away Monday, June 1, 2009. Born March 8, 1953 in Chicago, IL to the late Sigismund A. Kucharski and Alice Ruth Kucharski. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sharon Galliher Kucharski, son, Kelly Joseph Kucharski, daughters, Julie Kathleen and Jayne Victoria Kucharski. Joe graduated from Arizona State University with a BA. He immediately procured a position in sales with the Scottsdale Conference Resort in Scottsdale AZ. Joseph prospered there for more than 14 years making life-long friends out of most of his clients and business associates. Joe met Sharon, daughter of David A. and Nancy H. Galliher, residents now of Boca Grande, FL after Sharron graduated from the University of Arizona. When Joe met Sharon in 1985 she was a Hoosier thru and thru from Muncie, IN. In 1992 Joe, Sharon, Kelly, Julie, and a dog or dogs (there were always dogs) moved to Seabrook Island, SC. He followed one of his best friends to SC to help run the Seabrook Island Resort. For 10 years Joe was part of a great team that put Seabrook Resort back on the map as one of the great resorts of the Low Country. In 2002 Sharon began her real estate career and Joseph entered the mortgage business. Joe was very active in the Rotary Club of St. Andrews of Charleston. Don't get the impression that Joe was ALL work and no play. There was always time to play and nap with Kelly, Julie, and Jayne and he knew most of the members at Country Club of Charleston by first name where he was known to tee it up from time to time. He and Sharon took some epic trips to places most of us can only dream of. Joseph was a loving devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him. A service to celebrate Joseph's life will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 6 PM at the residence. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the 1st Tee of Greater Charleston, 222 W. Coleman Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. In the memo line reference: 1st Tee of Kuch, This would have made Joe very happy. Condolence messages may be sent to his Guest Book through our website, www.charlestonfunerals.com. Arrangements by JAMES A. MCALISTER FUNERAL HOME, 766-1365.
