Joseph Edgar Arsenault, 85, of Charleston died peacefully on February 28, 2015. The relatives and friends of Mr. Joseph E. Arsenault are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 2:00 PM Monday, March 2, 2015, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Ed was born in Gardner, Massachusetts, son of the late Henry and Annie O'Brien Arsenault. He was raised in Canada before returning to the United States at age 17. He was a loving husband of 62 years to his late wife, Vera Patricia Cypress Arsenault. He was predeceased by his brothers, Fred Arsenault, Laurie Arsenault, and Emery Arsenault. Edgar was a retired U.S. Naval Chief Petty Officer and received numerous achievement awards for his dedicated service. Although he spent many months on overseas duty, he remained an active and loving husband and father. His favorite hobbies included fishing, playing cribbage, but mostly spending quality time with his family. Ed leaves his children, Mike Arsenault, Pam Kearse and her husband, Cecil, Steven Arsenault and his wife, Sandra. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Arsenault and his wife, Pat, and his grandchildren, Cody, Kirsten, and Abigail.
