John Gilmore Game, Jr. , 'Jay', passed unexpectedly on Monday, May 8, 2023 at MUSC in Charleston, SC at the age of 55. The relatives and friends of John "Jay" Gilmore Game, Jr. are invited to attend his Funeral Service 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from the chapel of the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The son of the late John Gilmore Game and Suzanne Sweeten Game, Jay was born on November 10, 1967 in Charleston, SC. He was the oldest of four children: James G. Game of Charleston, SC, Christopher Game of New York, and Bryan Andrew Game of Charleston, SC. Jay graduated from James Island High School in 1987 and Johnson and Wales Culinary Institute in 1991. Following Graduation, Jay worked in the local Charleston restaurant community. He enjoyed spending time with his family and all the family dogs.
Jay is survived by his mother: Suzanne S. Game; three brothers: James Garnet 'Jamey' Game, Christopher Boyd 'Chip' Game (Phoebe), and Dr. Bryan Andrew 'Andy' Game (Stephanie); beloved nieces and nephews: Johnathan Brett Game (EmyKate), Justin Scott Game (Kaitlyn), Jana Game Morrow (Tradd), Sarah-Ellis Katherine Game, and McKay Bates Game; and four great-nieces and nephews: Hunter Gilmore Morrow, Anna Brett Game, Willa Katherine Game, and baby girl Game arriving later this year.
