John Benjamin (JB) Wilson, 92, of Adams Run, SC, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, August 2, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. The relatives and friends of Mr. Wilson are invited to attend his Visitation between 5 and 7 PM on Sunday Aug. 6. at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy., Charleston, SC. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM Monday, August 7, 2017, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery, Parkers Ferry Rd., Adams Run, SC. Mr. Wilson was born March 24, 1925 in the town of Allendale, in Allendale County, SC. Mr. Wilson was a son of the late Walker Reed Wilson and Zelma Lyons. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired Resident Manager for St. Andrews Homes and Charlestowne Village Apartments. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and stock car racing. Mr. Wilson was a dedicated family man and was in many ways the Patriarch and cornerstone of the family. Where he went, others followed. He was a father figure, mentor, and inspiration to many of the young people and children in his family and in the neighborhood where he lived . All who knew him, loved and respected him. Mr. Wilson is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Ellen Powers Wilson (from Rhode Island), his five sons: Reubin M. Wilson, Walker Reed Wilson and wife Terry, Ronald Dean Wilson, James Ray Wilson and wife Linda, and Roland Marion Wilson and wife Phyllis; 8 Grandchildren: Jessica, J.J., Christopher, James, Daniel, David, John B. and Walter (BJ) Richter; 12 Great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 3 Brothers: Hugh F. Wilson, Chris Clark, and Steve Clark. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Marion Carter, Shirley Studley, and Betty Ackerman, three brothers: O.E. Wilson, Clifton W. Wilson, and Carl J. Wilson. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Ralph H.
