Joe Luna, 80 years old; born June 5, 1940, a retired Businessman and widower of loving wife, Ermelinda Luna entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, with his daughters Emelia and Guadalupe by his side.
Joe devoted his life to helping the less fortunate and giving them a hand up. He would always say “where one eats, ten more can eat” with a touch of sense of humor. Always having a sense of compassion and kindness for the homeless people, Joe would let them stay at his house until they got their feet on the ground and were able to survive on their own.
The legacy Joe Luna leaves to his children and family is to have work ethic and be kind and compassionate.
His surviving children are Audelia, Emelia, Rodrigo, Magurisio, Rosalinda, Guadalupe, Josefina, Luis, and Augustin. He is also survived by thirty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family and close friends of Mr. Joe Luna are invited to attend his viewing at James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Friday, January 15, 2021. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church at 11:30 AM Saturday, January 16, 2021. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island.
