JoAnne Infinger

JoAnne T. Infinger, 90, widow of Richard R. Infinger, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 95 Hasell Street, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, on James Island. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Tuesday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM.

JoAnne was born on December 6, 1934, in Charleston, a daughter of Joseph A. and Helen Dowling Thomas. She attended James Simons School and was a graduate of Bishop England High School, Class of 1952.

JoAnne was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, where she was involved with the Hospitality Committee, the Altar Society and was a founding member of the Perpetual Adoration Society at Blessed Sacrament Church. She volunteered her time at Blessed Sacrament School and Bishop England High School where she helped prepare lunch for the teachers. She always had fond memories of her times with the Tuna Fish Club, lifelong friends since high school.

JoAnne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard; her sisters, Helen Marlowe and Marilyn Powers; brothers, Martin Thomas and Joseph Thomas; and great-grandson, Patrick Oliver Wofford.

Survivors include her daughters, Stephanie Frick (Walter), Michele Swicegood (Ed) and Cherie Hughs (Fred); her grandchildren, Mary Helen Wofford (Nate), Michael Frick (Kirsten), Emily Tanton (Gene), John Hughs and James Swicegood; and great-grandchildren, Damian and Clare Wofford and Hudson and Wilder Frick as well as a great-granddaughter due in January 2026.

Flowers are appreciated, but donations may be made in honor of JoAnne for the Renovation Fund at St. Mary's, 89 Hasell St., Charleston, SC 29401 or Bishop England High School, 363 Seven Farms Dr., Daniel Island, SC 29492.
