Joann Lasseter Ashfield

Jo Ann Lasseter Ashfield, 78, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Jo Ann was the daughter of the late John M. Lasseter and Alma Canaday Lasseter Caswell. She was a graduate of Chicora High School and worked as a long distance telephone operator with Southern Bell Telephone. In her later years, Jo Ann managed the Hickory Farms store in Ashley Plaza Mall until it closed and from there worked as a sales associate with Honey Baked Ham. In her early years, Jo Ann loved riding her horses and was once crowned "Miss St. George". She enjoyed such things as eating out and travelling with friends. Jo Ann was a person of high moral standards who loved her grand and great grandchildren. She was of strong faith and we are sure she is in heavenly peace. Jo Ann is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald Stewart Ashfield. In addition, she is survived by her son, Donald H. Ashfield, her daughter, Kimberly Ann Killian, her brother, R. Randal Lasseter, grandchildren: Donnie Ashfield, Lindsey Wright, Kellie M. Day, Chrystal L. Day and Lisa Nicole Thomas, as well as her great grandchildren Jacob Ashfield, R. Hunter Chesser, Erica M. Feagin, Emily Feagin and Kay Lea Walker. She is predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Donald Lasseter (Barbara), Johnny Lasseter (Eleanor) and Burney Banner (Jerri) and one great grandchild, Kate-Lynn Grace Feagin. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Donald S. Ashfield are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 10, 2013, at the Graveside, Jaques Cemetery, Givhans, SC. The family will receive friends Friday evening between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway. Flowers are accepted, or donations in Jo Ann's memory may be made to Carolina Bay Baptist Church, 2927 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29414.
