Jessie Petit Doran, widow of Thomas R. Doran Sr., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 at Hospice of Charleston. She was born to the late Frank W. Petit Sr. and Dora Koster Petit on June 29, 1919. Jessie was a retired sales associate with Condon's and Sears department stores, and a volunteer at local hospitals. A native Charlestonian, she attended local schools and resided West of the Ashley. Jessie and her late husband, Tommy, loved to entertain family and friends with their cookouts at their pools on Ashley Ave., Folly Beach and Wedgewood St. She was a Life Member of The Charleston Rifle Club Ladies Auxiliary for 76 years and at the time of her death held the record for being the longest member. She fully enjoyed her times there bowling, dancing and being involved in many activities. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas R. Doran, Sr.; her brothers: Frank W. Petit, Jr. and Carl Dick Petit; her sisters: Dorothy P Lahmeyer and Virginia P. Buero. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara D. Fosberry (Thomas); her son, Thomas R. Doran Jr. (Maureen); her grandchildren: Thomas C. Fosberry, Jr. (Raquel), Janice F. Passarello (John) and Mary Beth Clark (Byron); her step grandchildren: Rhonda K. Coffer (Lee), Kevin R. King and her great grandchildren: Mathew Passarello, Amber P. Dangerfield (Clint) and Harrison Clark. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Jessie Petit Doran are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 1:15 PM.
