Jesse Edward Boyer, Sr., 84, of James Island, SC, died Saturday, June 18, 2022.

The relatives and friends of Jesse Edward and Marilyn Boyer are invited to attend his Graveside Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, June 24, 2022 at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston. The family will receive friends between 5:00 & 7:00 PM Thursday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Flowers are accepted.

A son of the late Mae Elizabeth Davis and James A. Boyer, Jesse was born April 28, 1938 in Charleston. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Marilyn Mizell Boyer of Charleston; son Jesse E. Boyer, Jr. (Jay) of Charleston; daughter Teresa Michelle Browning of Bowman, SC; brothers David R. Boyer of Moncks Corner, SC and Jerry L. Boyer of Charleston; sister Eula Mae Singletary (Berry) of Moncks Corner; 6 Grandchildren: Harold "Bubba" Browning III, Joseph "Joey" Browning of Johns Island, Johnathan Horton, Cody Jay Boyer, Jesse "lil Jesse" Boyer III, and Lena Hammock of Charleston; and Great-grandchildren Kylie and Avery Horton of Charleston. Jesse was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Denise Boyer.
