After a brave battle against a rare cancer, Jay Scott Thomas, Sr., 67, husband of Nancy Lowe Thomas, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 9, 2017, surrounded by his family that loved him dearly. The relatives and friends Mr. and Mrs. Jay Scott Thomas are invited to attend his Memorial Service 11:00 AM, Friday, July 14, 2017, at the International Church of God, 1560 Ashley River Rd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Jay was born on April 15, 1950, to Melrose and John S. Thomas. He had a long career in the heating and air conditioning business. He was naturally talented with anything that involved electrical systems. Jay was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed taking long trips on his motorcycle, singing, and playing his guitar. Jay’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of the 5th floor and ICU at Roper Hospital for the excellent care they provided for him. Jay is predeceased by his parents and wife, Ann Marie. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Amy Lever-Neilson (Jimmy); son, Scott Thomas; daughter, Melanie Steen; stepson, Justin Lowe (Michelle); grandchildren: Capers Lever, Jessie Neilson, Brittany Thomas, Katelin Steen and Ashley Steen; sister, PJ Floyd (Ken); sister, Jinny Ballzigler (Harry) and all his cousins from the Glover Family.
