Jason Bryant Hartzell, 37, of Elgin, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 4:30 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2016, at the West Ashley Outboard Motor Club, 3450 McLeod Mill Road, Johns Island, SC 29455. Jason was born in Charleston on October 1, 1979. He was the son of Cherie and George (Buddy) Aimar. Jason served 12 years in the US Army with the 1st Squadron, 4th US Calvary regiment. While serving, Jason was known for his expert marksmanship and received several awards and accomplishments for his superior shooting skills. After his honorable discharge from the military, Jason moved back to South Carolina where he entered into the technological field and served as an IT Specialist for L3 communications based out of Shaw Air Force base, South Carolina for nine years. While he will be missed, Jason will forever be remembered as a true southern boy, strong willed and determined, a hard headed, yet passionate man, who always stood strong for what he believed in. Jason is survived by his parents, Cherie and Buddy Aimar, his father, Donald L. Hartzell, Jr.; his children, Ysolina Marie Hartzell and Jacob Aimar Hartzell; his brother, Joshua B. Hartzell and his wife, Kelly; his sister, Emily E. Aimar; his nephew, Jackson C. Hartzell; his niece, Keagen C. Hartzell, as well as his grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
