Jane Havens Moring

Jane Havens Moring, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 1, 2018. She passed away quietly with her sons and other loving family members at her side. The relatives and friends of Jane Havens Moring are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM Monday, June 4, 2018 from the chapel of James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.

Jane was born on the family dairy farm in Green Bay, Virginia on May 27, 1932 to Henry Albert Havens and Hazel Price Havens. She was a 1950 graduate of Farmville (Virginia) High School. Jane married the love of her life, Walter Lee Moring, in 1949 in Victoria, Virginia. She was a founding member of Harbor View Presbyterian Church, James Island, SC and long-time member of The King's Daughters and Riverland Terrace Garden Club. Jane loved baseball and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents and devoted husband of sixty years Walter. She is survived by her sister, Nancy (Havens) Miller of Hoboken, New Jersey; sons Walter L. Moring, Jr. and his wife, Francine of Columbia, SC; Albert D. Moring and his wife, Allyson of Meggett, SC; and Paul W. Moring and his wife, Kristen of Evansville, IN; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Moring Anacker, Robert Moring, Tucker Moring, Dustin Moring, Meredith Moring DuRant, Shelby Moring and Taylor Moring; and five great-grandchildren.
