James Waverly Wells

James Waverly "Jimmy" Wells, 42, of James Island, died Sunday, October 23, 2011. Jimmy was born in Sumter, South Carolina on June 22, 1969, a son of Diane E. Wells and the late Waverly M. "Sam" Wells. He was a 1987 graduate of St. Andrew's High School and received his Bachelors degree in Political Science and History from the University of South Carolina in 1991. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #11910 in Summerville, was a 4th degree Knight with Knights of Columbus Assembly #3009. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians and of The Elks Club BPO #242. Jimmy is survived by his mother, Diane E. Wells of James Island; two sisters, Anne M. (Todd) Helfter of Summerville and Helen E. Wells of James Island; nephews, Mark and Galen Helfter; niece Kaitlin Helfter and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. The relatives and friends of James Waverly "Jimmy" Wells, are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Church of the Nativity, 1060 Folly Rd. The Rite of Committal will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, October 28, 2011, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy.
