James Frederick Pedersen, Sr.

PEDERSEN, SR., James Frederick, age 94, of Hollywood, SC, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012. A son of the late Hans Frederick and Alma Mayberry Pedersen, Mr. Pedersen was born in Columbia, SC on December 8, 1917, and was raised in Charleston, SC. He was a graduate of the High School of Charleston in 1937. He was the founder of James F. Pedersen and Company, Inc., which was founded in 1952 and is operated today by his son and grandson. Mr. Pedersen was also an avid fisherman, sailor, and farmer. He is survived by his 2 children: James F. Pedersen, Jr. and wife Suzanne of Yonges Island, SC; Mary Helen Walker and husband Bill of Yonges Island, SC; 5 grandchildren: James F. Pedersen, III (Gayle), Amy W. Genga (Mark), Kevin B. Walker (Shanna), Helen P. Jones (Casey), and Julia P. Pedersen; 7 great-grandchildren: Logan Genga, Mason Genga, James F. Pedersen, IV, Elizabeth Pedersen, William Jones, Corrie Walker, Nora Walker; 1 Brother, Thomas Eugene Pedersen (Lydia) of Johns Island, SC. Mr. Pedersen was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Helen Baldwin Pedersen, and his sister, Dorothy P. Groover. The relatives and friends of Mr. James Frederick Pedersen, Sr. are invited to attend his funeral service at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2012, from the Graveside, St. Paul's Episcopal Churchyard, Chapel Road, Hollywood, SC. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2012, in the sanctuary of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Hwy. 165, Hollywood, SC.
