James David Moore

David Moore, 82, of Charleston, SC, husband of Patricia F. Moore, entered into eternal rest Monday, December 25, 2023 at home after a short battle with cancer. The relatives and friends of David and Patricia Moore are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Folly Beach. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island.

Dave was born April 10, 1941 in Chickamauga, Geogia to the late Hope Wyatt Moore and Annie Clyde Daniel Moore. He grew up in Cedartown, GA and lived most of his adult life in Atlanta, GA. He retired to Charleston, South Carolina in 2015.

Dave was a funeral director employed by H. M. Patterson and Sons in Atlanta. In his later years he was a self-employed private contractor who was an integral part in growth and development, relocation and acquisitions of major real estate companies in the Metro Atlanta area.

Dave enjoyed gardening and was blessed with a gift of restoring sick and dying plants to their natural beauty. We often teased that he was a plant whisperer.

All who knew Dave knew of his love for his three little doggies. Lewis, Clark and Sweet Pea were by his side for many years.
Although he loved his little buddies, his primary love was for his family and he cherished every moment he spent with them, no matter the occasion or circumstance. He will be remembered for the many stories he told, his love, laughter and his unwavering dedication to those he held dear.

Dave is survived by his wife, Trish Friend Moore, his sister, Mary Ann Wood, and his children: Tony Moore, Venita Moore, Jessey O’Neal, Chris Llewellyn, Karen Moore Walker (Billy), Jason Llewellyn, Matt Llewellyn (Samara), Jonathan Moore (Bailey), as well as ten grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
