James Matthew Brown

James Matthew Brown, 38, of Wando, S.C. passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2013. The relatives and friends of James Matthew Brown are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel, 2115 N. Highway 17, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466. The family will receive visitors immediately following services in the Relief Society Room. Matthew was born in Columbia, SC and loved his southern heritage. In his early years he journeyed with his parents and lived in Kuwait. He returned to the states and lived in Lexington, KY, Cincinnati, OH, and settled in the Mount Pleasant area, where he resided for the past 13 years. He graduated from the College of Charleston and enjoyed his years and opportunities working at Benefit Focus. Matt loved the outdoors, fishing, boating and sports, but most of all, sharing these things with his two boys. He will long be remembered for his infectious sense of humor. He is survived by his boys, Ayden Cooper and Brody Mattox, who were the loves of his life; his parents, Greg and Sharon Brown of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Brown of Henderson, NV and PerryAnne Brown of Cincinnati, OH; aunt, Joye Lang of Columbia, SC; uncle, Monty Perry of Spartanburg, SC and grandmother, Elizabeth "Betty" Perry. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James B. Perry of Columbia, SC.
