Jackie T. Owens

September 21, 1946 — March 25, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Trebella Owens on March 25, 2025, in Charleston, South Carolina. Friends and relatives are invited to Jackie's Graveside Funeral 4:00 PM Friday, March 28, at Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Ave., Charleston. The family will receive friends between 2:00 & 3:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston.

Born on September 21, 1946, in Lake City, South Carolina, Jackie lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

As a dedicated hairdresser, Jackie made her mark in the cosmetology industry with her expertise and passion for beauty. She proudly owned The Pampered Lady and Cut/Clippers Hair salons. For over 25 years, she operated Jackie's Hair Salon at the Canterbury House, where her warm spirit and keen artistic eye created an inviting atmosphere for her clients.

For the past 14 years, Jackie made perhaps her greatest contribution to her community serving as the hairdresser for the James A. McAlister Funeral Home. Her work was flawless, and even the most difficult situations were treated with the utmost professionalism and a dedication to serving others. The funeral home credits Jackie for the unbelievable success they've enjoyed and the satisfaction countless families experienced because of her attention to detail. Jackie did hair for families with great pride, and her reputation led other firms to seek her out for their families as well. The funeral directors at James A. McAlister have said many times, "You may not have known or met Jackie, but you undoubtedly saw her work."

Jackie was not only a stylist but also an artist and talented painter, expressing her creativity through her artwork. She possessed a green thumb that allowed her to cultivate beauty in her garden, nurturing plants and flowers to flourish under her care. Above all, Jackie cherished her family. She was a loving mother to her sons, Courtney and Quincy Owens, and a doting grandmother who filled her grandchildren's lives with warmth and affection.

Traveling the world with her beloved mother-in-law, Jackie embraced new cultures and experiences with open arms, always eager to share her adventures with those she loved. At home, she found joy in the companionship of her two cats, Max and Izzy, who brought her endless comfort and amusement.

Jackie's legacy of love, creativity, dedication, and faith in God will endure in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind her son Quincy, wife Diana and grandson Chase and her son Courtney, wife Stephanie and grandaughters Madalynn and Katelyn who will carry her spirit forward in all that they do. She is also survived by her sister Dianne Swearingen from New Bern, NC, niece Angie Gray from Atlanta, GA, and her brother Bill and wife Nancy Trebella from Lake City, SC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jackie's memory may be made to local animal shelters, reflecting her love for her feline companions and the many animals she supported in her community throughout her life.

Jackie's light will be missed, but her spirit will forever shine brightly in the lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Julie Trebella and her husband Thomas Leonard Owens.
