Mr. Jack R. Franklin, 83, of West Ashley, husband of Frieda Ann Franklin entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital. Jack was born August 16, 1926 in Van Lear, Kentucky, the son of Sam and Goldie Mae Franklin. He answered his nations call to duty in the Navy during World War II, Korean War and the Cold War. Following his retirement from the Navy he worked for WESTVACO, retiring from it's maintenance department. Mr. Franklin is survived by his wife Frieda Ann; his two sons Paul E. Franklin, and Jack L. Franklin and his wife, Toni of Charleston; two daughters Patricia S. Franklin Addison and her husband, Billy and Pamela L. Franklin Maynard and her husband Gary; grandchildren: Michelle Franklin Simerly, Jacquelyn Franklin, Emily Franklin, Tessa Franklin, Jennifer Addison Austin, Joseph Addison, Kenneth Hayden, Aaron Hayden, and Christopher Hayden; great grandchildren: Richard Simerly, Ryan Simerly, and Caroline Franklin. The family of Jack R. Franklin will receive friends between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy.
